Effect of acyling
agent on the selectivity of anion-exchange resins and efficiency of separation
Abstract
Anion-exchange
resins have been prepared by a two-step procedure of an acylation of
polysterene-divinylbenzene with cross-linking degree 50%, followed by amination
with trimethylamine. The resins contain three, four or five carbon atoms
between the polymer-backbone and the quaternary ammonium exchange group,
respectively. It was found that the increase of the length of the spacer-arm
leads to narrower and more symmetric peaks and affects the selectivity of anion-exchange resins.
