The velocity of chemical reactions
Table of content

Influence of the character of reagents on the velocity of chemical reaction

The constant of velocity of reaction depends on the reacting substances. Sodium interacts with water slower than potassium, and lithium interacts even slower. Hydrogen reacts with oxygen very quickly (frequently with explosion), and nitrogen with oxygen - extremely slowly and only in severe conditions (electric discharge, high temperatures).

Do you want to know what does the character of reagents mean?
