LABORATORY OF PHYSICO-CHEMICAL ASPECTS OF ENERGY BIOCONVERSION Bioluminescence: Principles and Applications

Ekaterina Dement'eva was born on July 28, 1958 in Moscow. In 1980 she graduated from the Chemistry Department of Moscow State University. Since 1980 she has been working at the Chemical Enzymology division in Moscow State University: engineer 1980-1986; Junior Research Worker 1986-1987, Research Worker 1987 - present time. In 1986 she defended Ph.D. thesis "Kinetic properties of firefly luciferase" and obtained Ph.D. degree in Chemistry. The field of her scientific interest is bioluminescence, mechanism and kinetics of firefly luciferase reaction. Since 1987 she takes part in the studies connected with genetic engineering of luciferase: cloning of gene, isolation and purification of recombinant protein. She is the author of 9 papers, 2 reviews, 9 posters to the conferences and 3 patents (Russian).
